Desperate glances

desperate glances

sate my Eyes with yours

What I see I feel not

but a glass cage                   a glass face

Smooth lines static lines

let me trace them with my mind

drowning in your beauty

that scalds

— a suffocation of synapses

Halt!                            I cannot move—                   moved to dust

a single mote in the u n i v e r s e

Lost in the fields that spring from your thoughts

I lay me down, forgetting—

my fingers slip against the wall.
